Discord Voice Chat Support to Finally Come to Xbox

Xbox has revealed that it will at long last add Discord voice chat compatibility to its Series X/S and One gaming consoles. The update has been released to Xbox Insiders since today, July 20, and it will be made accessible to the general public in the upcoming weeks.

The upgrade will be released to Xbox Insiders today, and the rest of the public will be able to access it in the upcoming weeks, claims a press release. With the update, users will be able to interact with other players on PCs and mobile devices using Discord’s audio chat feature.

The FAQ part of the Insider website states that the Xbox Insider Program is free to join and allows passionate Xbox fans the opportunity to give us feedback on the latest Xbox system updates, as well as features and games still in development,”

While this is definitely something new for the console, it could mean huge and better things to come. The console platform could use a little work along the edges with this one, but it’s sure they are to work something out and eventually make things much better and even up to speed with their competitors.
